Installation guide for your setup : Autonomous Greenhouse

Food self-sufficiency for the whole family, all year round

Before you start

Your Autonomous Greenhouse is assembled on site, directly in your garden. Built around vertical aeroponic towers, it saves you 80 % of space and 95 % of water, all year round. In terms of durability, the galvanized steel frame comes with a 5-year warranty and the polycarbonate with a 10-year warranty. Good preparation before assembly prevents rework: take the time to check everything.

Choosing and preparing the location

  • Choose a flat, clear spot with good light exposure, sheltered from the strongest winds if possible.
  • Allow for the necessary space: width 3 m, height 215 cm, length of 4 to 12 m depending on your model (18 m² = 3 × 6 m). Keep clearance all around for assembly and maintenance.
  • Plan for access to water and electricity near the greenhouse: the aeroponic towers need both to operate.
  • A foundation is not required, but it is recommended: a stable, level base makes assembly easier and extends the life of the whole structure.

Gathering your equipment

  • Upon receipt, check the contents of your delivery: galvanized steel frame parts, polycarbonate panels (4 to 16 mm thick depending on your configuration), doors, vertical aeroponic towers and assembly instructions.
  • Prepare the required tools: [To be completed: list of tools required for assembly].
  • Allow for [To be completed: recommended number of people and assembly time].

Installation, step by step

Assemble preferably in dry, windless weather.

  1. Mark out the greenhouse location on the ground and check its dimensions.
  2. Level and stabilize the ground; if you opted for a foundation, build it at this stage.
  3. Assemble the base of the galvanized steel frame.
  4. Assemble the rest of the frame following the instructions, without fully tightening the screws.
  5. Check that the structure is square and level, then tighten all the fasteners.
  6. Attach the polycarbonate panels to the frame.
  7. Install the supplied doors.
  8. Set up the vertical aeroponic towers inside the greenhouse.
  9. Connect the water and electricity supply for the towers.
  10. Fill the towers with the nutrient solution prepared according to the instructions.
  11. Check that water flows properly over each tower.
  12. Plant your first lettuces, herbs or vegetables in the towers.

Checks and initial adjustments

Once the greenhouse is assembled, spend a few minutes on these checks before first use:

  • Recheck the tightening of all the screws, then again after a few days, once the structure has settled.
  • Check the alignment and fastening of the polycarbonate panels.
  • Test the opening and closing of the doors, and adjust them if necessary for a clean closure.
  • Check that all the plants on each tower are receiving water.
  • Monitor the water level daily during the first few days to spot any unusual consumption.
  • Set the towers’ operation (water supply) according to the instructions.

Maintenance and usage tips

  • Clean the polycarbonate panels regularly with clear water to preserve interior brightness.
  • Check the screws and fasteners after every episode of strong wind.
  • Clean the aeroponic towers between growing cycles, following the recommendations in the instructions.
  • Check the water level and nutrient solution regularly, especially in hot weather.
  • Replant as you harvest to keep production going all year round.
  • Alternate lettuces, herbs and fresh vegetables to get the most out of your towers.

Common issues

  • The structure seems wobbly after assembly → check that the base is level and re-tighten all the screws.
  • The polycarbonate panels vibrate or rattle in the wind → check and re-tighten their fasteners.
  • A tower is not distributing water → check the electrical connection and the water level, then restart the tower.
  • Plants are growing poorly or deteriorating → check the water level and the nutrient solution dosage according to the instructions.
  • Excessive heat or condensation builds up inside → ventilate by opening the doors, especially during the hottest hours.
  • Water pools at the base of the greenhouse → the ground is not level enough: re-level the affected area.
